Booking Information

Please call or email to book your guided trip in the Canadian Rockies, and we can discuss any specific questions and concerns you may have.  We encourage you to book as early as possible (ideally more than three months prior) as reservations fill up early.  


Waivers:  There is an element of risk to all mountain activities that is beyond our control.  We will require you to sign a liability waiver prior to participating in one of our guided trips.  A copy of the waiver will be sent with the booking package for you to review prior to the trip.


Payment/Deposits: We require a 25% deposit at the time of booking for all trips.  Full payment is due 8 weeks prior to the trip start date.


Tax:  All bookings will be subject to an additional 5% GST tax. 


Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel a trip, our cancellation policy is as follows:

1. Cancellations more than eight weeks prior to trip departure - We will retain $20 of day hiking fees and $100 of multi-day fees to cover administration and reservation fees.

2. Cancellations four to eight weeks prior to trip departure - we will retain 25% of the program fee. 

3. Cancellations less than four weeks prior to trip departure are not eligible for a refund.  However, if a suitable replacement is found (either by you, or by us) we can offer you a refund minus a 15% administration fee.  Alternatively, you can choose to re-book your trip for another date (within one year).

We recommend you purchase cancellation insurance from your local insurance provider.  Contact us if you would like some recommendations.

Itinerary Change: At times the weather and conditions in the mountains is unpredictable, and guided trips may need to be revised depending on conditions (e.g. flooding, wildfires, closures for wildlife).  If the original itinerary is no longer possible, Aster Mountain Adventures reserves the right to revise the trip to another destination.

Cancelled trip:  If Aster Mountain Adventures decides a day hike or backpacking trip must be cancelled for reasons beyond our control (e.g. backcountry closures) and a revised itinerary is not possible, you will be given a refund in full, or the option to re-book an alternate trip (within one year). When possible we will try to simply adjust the itinerary rather than cancelling a trip.  Note, we are not responsible for costs that you incur outside of the trip fees (e.g. pre-booked travel costs such as flights, accommodations etc).

Mountain Weather:  Mountain weather is unpredictable and can range from hot and sunny to snowing on any day of the year.  As much as we hope your trip occurs in the best weather possible, we cannot make any guarantees.  Our trips will go ahead in all weather conditions. We will send you information to help you come prepared, but please be aware that we cannot offer refunds for poor weather.

Physical Fitness: Please make sure that you have doctor approval for undertaking physical activity.  We require you to advise us of any medical conditions.

Payment: Presently we can accept payment via paypal and credit card.
