August already?!

Well, summer sure does seem to fly by here in the Rockies. It seems like we blinked and it is already August. July was a busy month as our schedules were a bit fuller than we expected. It's been amazing though - we've met wonderful folks from many places. We've had many guests visiting from the U.S. (our prices are in Canadian dollars - so with the current value of our dollar we are 'on sale' for all of you American travellers!) as well as people from as far away as England and Israel! A big thanks to all of the visitors who have made our days out in the mountains so much fun. Let's be honest has been a very rainy July, with Banff recording double the average rainfall. We haven't let this stop us though - the mountains have been beautiful rain or shine, and the alpine flowers have been out-of-this-world gorgeous.

In addition to lots of day hikes throughout the Rocky Mountain parks, we've also been doing some backpacking. We'll have some dedicated posts on this sometime in the future when things slow down a bit around here. August has started off as another busy month. There are still a few spaces left on upcoming trips, so check out the availability on our individual trip pages. In September there are just two spots left on for Lake O'Hara - so grab these quick! The larches will be in their full glory by then.

If you expect to be in the Jasper area in September, we have a prime booking on the Jasper Skyline backpacking trail with spaces available. Early September is gorgeous on the Skyline Trail - the alpine colours are vibrant, the air is crisp, mosquitoes!! We'll start at Maligne Lake, and spend three days on the trail, with the first night at Snowbowl campground and the second at Tekarra.

To finish up this 'newsy' post - I'll leave you with some pictures that give you a taste of the summer so far.
